Crime Branch files charge sheet in J&K land grab case

The Crime Branch of Jammu and Kashmir Police today filed a charge sheet in a court here against three persons in connection with a bid to fraudulently grab prime land in Jammu city.

Crime Branch, Jammu, filed challan (charge sheet) in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate here against a group of three persons for allegedly grabbing the land fraudulently in Jammu city, a CB official said.

An FIR was filed under sections 419, 420, 423, 465, 466, 468 120-B of RPC on the complaint of Deep Kumar of Bahu Fort, Jammu, wherein he alleged that he is the owner and in possession of land measuring seven kanals (one kanal is equivalent to 5445 square feet) at Chowadhi village in district Jammu.

Out of the said land, three kanals, 12 marlas falling in khasra no. 1177 and 1 kanal, 12 marlas, falling under Khasra no 1176 was purchased by him in 2005 and necessary entries were reflected accordingly in revenue records, he said.

On May 27, 2012 some persons came to the complainant stating that they had purchased the land belonging to him, the official said.

The complainant further alleged that two documents of sale both dated 24 May, 2012, purportedly executed by him, one in favour of Nazir Ahmed of Chowadhi, and the other in favour of Shamim Akhtar, were found received in the office of sub registrar, Jammu for registration.

He alleged that he neither approached the office of tehsildar for issuance of fard (map of land) nor did he appear before sub-registrar, Jammu for registration of the said sale deeds etc.
During investigation it was found that Deep Kumar owned land measuring 2 kanals and necessary entries in the revenue records have been reflected in his name, the official said.

One Shashi Kumar alais Makhnu of district Samba hatched a criminal conspiracy with Nazir Ahmed and Shamim Akhter and pursuance to that he allegedly managed photographs, map of land, record of land and other details of land of the complainant and transferred the said land by executing two sale deeds dated 24 May, 2012, one in favour of Nazir and Shamim Akhter, he said.

The sale deeds were presented before the court of sub judge (sub registrar) Jammu for registration on the same day, he said, adding the accused Shashi Kumar allegedly posed as Deep Kumar before the court, who was identified by accused Nazir Ahmed and Shamim Akhter as Deep Kumar before the court.
