A website that will help deal with cases of missing children faster as well as provide information on all aspects of juvenile justice and rights was launched by the Delhi Police Saturday.
The website – www.dpjju.com – intends to create awareness on juvenile rights and will give details about organisations working for juveniles, the laws applicable to them and also has an interactive chatroom.
Launching the website, Delhi High Court acting Chief Justice Madan B. Lokur said there was a need to devise a ‘holistic’ approach to deal with issues related to juveniles and this was a step forward in the right direction for the child rights movement.
Delhi Social Welfare Minister Kiran Walia released a training module and guidelines on dealing with juveniles, while Police Commissioner Y.S. Dadwal launched the guidelines for police officers on child-related issues.
Reiterating the efforts made by the police, he emphasised the need of sensitisation of the police officers at the police station level.
With the launch of the website, Delhi Police aims to increase awareness amongst police officers, youth, social workers, and the society on the whole about various issues relevant to juveniles.
Good Work by Delhi Police, the Central Government is about to amend the Juvenile Justice (care and protection of children) Act, in order to prevent discrimination against children who are suffering from infectious diseases.
