Tainted Sikkim High Court Chief Justice P.D. Dinakaran sent his resignation to President Pratibha Patil on Friday.

In his resignation, Dinakaran said that he has been targeted as he belongs to the lower caste and the system does not grant him any support.

“I have a sinking suspicion that my misfortune was because of my circumstances of my birth in the socially oppressed and under privileged society,” Dinakaran, who faces land grab charges during his stint as the Karnataka High Court Chief Justice, stated in his resignation.

Dinakaran’s resignation comes days after he lost several petitions in the Supreme Court seeking to stall impeachment proceedings against him headed by Justice Aftab Alam.
