Jammu Police have arrested five miscreants along with sharp-edged weapons from the heart of the city of this winter capital, police said.
“The night patrolling party of Pacca Danga Police Station late last night incepted a group of six people in the city area,” police sources said here.
They said the miscreants tried to escape on seeing the police but were apprehended after a hot chase.
“Five of them were arrested but one managed to give a slip to the police,” they added.
During frisking, one Chinese dagger, sword, kirch and khukhri like sharp-edged weapons were recovered from their possession.
The arrested people were identified as Aakash, Chanchal Singh, Umar, Rahul while one Durga Singh alias Deepu escaped.
“A case under FIR number 70/2012 under sections 148, 149, 353 of RPC and 4/25 Arms Act was registered against them,” police added.
Police, however, said the miscreants had planned to eliminate one of their rivals while the investigations are in progress.
