Fodder Scam: CBI court sentences 26 to 1-5 years of imprisonment

A special CBI court today sentenced 26 accused of the multi-crore rupee fodder scam to jail terms varying from one to five years.

Along with imprisonment, the court had also slapped fine ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 1 lakh on the convicted.

Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Special Judge G K Singh held 26 people guilty in the case related to fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 67.50 lakh from Sahebganj district treasury from 1991 to 1993 and 1995 to 1996.

Of the convicts, ten were officials of the Animal Husbandry Department, while the rest were suppliers.
