Bail application of the main accused in the alleged Hastinapur land grabbing case was on Wednesday rejected by a local court here.
Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Sita Ram yesterday rejected the bail plea of suspended revenue clerk, Jai Bhagwan, in connection with the case here.
Jai Bhagwan has been booked in several cases, including employing bonded labour on encroached government land.
Twenty-three cases have been registered so far against the alleged encroachment of government land in 27 villages in the district.
District authorities had found that sugarcane crops had been grown on 169 bigha of encroached government land during checking in 27 villages.
The court also rejected the surrender applications of 11 accused identified as Shokender, Prem, Pramod, Sunny, Anil, Bijender, Bharti, Kunwar, Ilam, Nitu and Kumar. The accused had filed an application for surrendering in the court but later did not turn up.
Police has now initiated attachment proceedings against the 11 absconding accused.
