Kasab gets death for 26/11 terror strike (Lead)

Pakistani national Ajmal Amir Kasab, the lone gunman captured alive during the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack, was Thursday sentenced to death by a special court, which ruled that he did not have any right to live. He had been convicted on 86 counts, including waging war on the Indian state.

Kasab was sentenced to death on five different counts, including waging war against India, killing people and indulging in terrorist activities. He was sentenced to life imprisonment on five other counts
