Orissa High Court gets 3 more additional judges

Three more additional judges have been appointed to Orissa High Court.

Presidential warrants of appointment of the additional judges reached the HC Registry here today, informed the Registrar General of the HC Jatindra Prasad Das.

Das himself has been elevated to the bench along with two others.

Khurda district sessions Judge Durga Prasanna Choudhury and former additional standing counsel Krushnaram Mohapatra are the other two judges-designate, who have been elevated to the bench as additional judges, Das informed adding the swearing-in ceremony of the new judges would be held on April 17.

Born on April 18, 1968 to former Lok Pal Justice Sarat Chandra Mohapatra, Krushnaram, who was an ASC between 2006 and 07, began practicing law in Orissa High Court from March 1988 after obtaining his law degree from The Law College, Cuttack in 1987.

Choudhury, who had a successful stint as the Director of Odisha Judicial Academy here, began his career after joining Odisha Judicial Services in 1982. He was born on July 3, 1956.

57-year-old Das began his career as a lawyer in the High Court in 1978. He joined Odisha Judicial Services in 1981
