A court here Saturday summoned Bollywood actor and former Samajwadi Party (SP) general secretary Sanjay Dutt on April 24 in a case related to his alleged disparaging remarks against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati.

Taking cognizance of the charge sheet filed against Dutt Friday, Chief Judicial Magistrate A.K. Tiwari Saturday summoned Dutt to appear before the court April 24.

The charge sheet was filed in the CJM court in Pratapgarh district where Dutt made “unpleasant remarks” against Mayawati, officials said.

“Main Mayawatiji ko jaadu ki jhappi aur pappi dono doonga (I will give both a hug and a kiss to Mayawati),” Dutt reportedly said during the April 16, 2009, election rally at K.P. College in Pratapgarh.

The speech was videographed by local authorities, on the basis of which a case was registered against Dutt under section 294 (obscene acts and songs) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), officials said.
