A special court on Wednesday permitted the CBI to question all three accused in the sensational Sheena Bora murder case. However, the permission has been granted on certain conditions.

The CBI stated that it has registered a new case after taking over the investigation from Khar Police and wanted to question the accused about the murder.

On Monday, the CBI moved an application before a court seeking permission to question the three accused — Indrani Mukerjea, her former husband Sanjeev Khanna and driver Shyamvar Rai.

The CBI usually recreates the crime scene during the initial stage of the investigation to note down the sequence of events. Accordingly, it questions the accused again about the crime to connect the missing links.

Khar Police had arrested the three accused and they had exhausted the permissible 14 days of police custody before it was transferred to the CBI recently.

It will be difficult for the CBI to convince the court to seek their custody for further interrogation
