Two advocates, C. Praveen Kumar and M. S. Rama Chandra Rao, have been elevated as additional judges of the A.P. High Court. They would be sworn in on Friday. Both of them are from Hyderabad.
Their elevation assumes significance in the light of the fact that a practising advocate was last made a judge of High Court in December 2009. After that only district judges were promoted.
As a result, advocates of the High Court had complained that they were not being considered for elevation.
