Warrant issued against three in Israeli car blast case

A Delhi court issued warrant against three Iranians Wednesday in the Israeli diplomat car blast case, said a senior police official.

Chief of Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Vinod Yadav of Delhi’s Tis Hazari court issued vulnerable warrant against three Iranians namely — Hooshang Asfshar Irani, Syed Ali Meheid Sadra, and Mohammed Reza Abol Ehasemi.

On March 6, Sayed Mohammed Ahmed Kazmi, 52, was arrested by the special cell of Delhi Police from India Islamic Cultural Centre in south Delhi’s Lodhi Road area.

Kazmi, hailing from Meerut in Uttar Pradesh, had been residing in south Delhi’s B.K. Dutt colony near Jor Bagh area for several years.

After Kazmi’s arrest, Delhi Police had found some leads during his interrogation that led to issuing of arrest warrant against the three Iranians Wednesday.

On Feb 13, four people were injured when an Israeli diplomat’s car was struck by a bomb near the Israeli embassy in the New Delhi.

Tal Yehoshua Koren, wife of the Israeli defence attache, suffered multiple injuries when a motorcycle rider attached a magnetic explosive device to her car and sped away. Within seconds, the device exploded with a thunderous sound, setting the car on fire.

Israel had blamed Iran and its militant proxies for the car bomb attack.
