Short title and commencement.-(1) This Act may be called the<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Government of Union Territories and the Government of National<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Act, 2006.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">(2) Section 2 shall be deemed to have come into force on the 31st day<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">of March, 2005.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">CHAPTER II<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">AMENDMENT OF THE GOVERNMENT OF UNION TERRITORIES ACT, 1963<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">2. Insertion of new section 43F.-After section 43E of the Government<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">of Union Territories Act, 1963 (20 of 1963) the following section<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">shall be inserted, namely:-<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">&#8220;43F. Special provision as to readjustment of territorial<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">constituencies on the basis of 2001 census.-Notwithstanding the<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">publication of orders under sub-section (1) of section 10 of the<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Delimitation Act, 2002 (33 of 2002) or anything contained in subsection<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">(2) or sub-section (4) of the said section, any readjustment<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">in the division of Union territory into territorial constituencies by<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">the Delimitation Commission under the said Act, on the basis of 2001<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">census shall take effect from such date as the Central Government<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">may, by order, published in the Official Gazette, specify and until<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">such readjustment takes effect, any election to the Legislative<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Assembly may be held on the basis of the territorial constituencies<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">existing before such readjustment.&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">CHAPTER III<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">AMENDMENT OF THE GOVERNMENT OF NATIONAL CAPITAL TERRITORY OF DELHI<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">3. Amendment of section 3.-In section 3 of the Government of National<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Capital Territory of Delhi Act, 1991 (1 of 1992), in sub-section (3),<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">after the proviso, the following proviso shall be inserted, namely:-<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">&#8220;Provided further that any readjustment in the division of the<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Capital into territorial constituencies by the Delimitation<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Commission under the Delimitation Act, 2002 (33 of 2002) on the basis<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">of 2001 census shall take effect from such date as the Central<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Government may, by order, published in the Official Gazette, specify<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">and until such readjustment takes effect, any election to the<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Legislative Assembly may be held on the basis of the territorial<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">constituencies existing before such readjustment.&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">T.
