CHAPTER I<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

PRELIMINARY<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n

1. Short title and commencement.-(1) This Act may be called the<\/p>\n

Representation of the People (Second Amendment) Act, 2003.<\/p>\n

(2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 29th day of<\/p>\n

October, 2003.<\/p>\n

CHAPTER II<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

AMENDMENT OF THE REPRESENTATION OF THE PEOPLE ACT,<\/span><\/strong>\u00a01950<\/p>\n

2. Amendment of section 13AA of Act 43 of 1950.-In section 13AA of the<\/p>\n

Representation of the People Act, 1950, in sub-section (1), the words<\/p>\n

“other than a Union territory,” shall be omitted<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

CHAPTER III<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

AMENDMENT OF THE REPRESENTATION OF THE PEOPLE ACT, 1951<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

. Amendment of sections 26 and 78 of Act 43 of 1951.-In the<\/p>\n

Representation of the People Act, 1951,-<\/p>\n

(a) in section 26, sub-section (5) shall be omitted;<\/p>\n

(b) in section 78, sub-section (2) shall be omitted.<\/p>\n

\u00a04. Repeal and saving.-(1) The Representation of the People (Amendment)<\/p>\n

Ordinance, 2003 (Ord. 5 of 2003) is hereby repealed.<\/p>\n

(2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken<\/p>\n

under the Representation of the People Act, 1950 (43 of 1950) and the<\/p>\n

Representation of the People Act, 1951 (43 of 1951) as amended by the<\/p>\n

said Ordinance, shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the<\/p>\n
