1. Short title. This Act may be called the Representation of the
\nPeople (Second Amendment) Act, 1996.2.2.Amendment of Act, 43 of 1950.<\/p>\n
2. Amendment of Act, 43 of 1950. In the Fourth Schedule to the
\nRepresentation of the People Act, 1950,-<\/p>\n
(a) under the heading “KARNATAKA”, for the entries 1 to 5, the following entries shall be substituted, namely:-<\/p>\n
“1. City Municipal Corporations.<\/p>\n
2. City Municipal Councils.<\/p>\n
3. Town Municipal Councils.<\/p>\n
4. Town Panchayats.<\/p>\n
5. Zilla Panchayats.<\/p>\n
6. Taluk Panchayats.<\/p>\n
7. Grama Panchayats.<\/p>\n
8. Cantonment Boards.”.<\/p>\n
(b) under the heading “UTTAR PRADESH”, for the entries 1 to 6, the following entries shall be substituted, namely:-<\/p>\n
“1 Municipal Corporations.<\/p>\n
2. Municipal Councils.<\/p>\n
3. Zila Panchayats.<\/p>\n
4. Nagar Panchayats.<\/p>\n
5. Kshettra Panchayats.<\/p>\n
