The Regional Meteorological Centre at Chennai is one of the seven regional meteorological centres (RMCs) of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) and is responsible for the weather-related activities of the southern Indian peninsula comprising the states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and the union territories of Lakshadweep Islands and Puducherry.
