JUDGMENT

1. After hearing the counsel for the petitioner, on 28.9.2000, the arrest of the petitioner was stayed subject to his joining investigation. At that time, the petitioner had come to court apprehending that some false case may be registered against him. His apprehension has come true. FIR No. 196 dated 16.10.2000 under Sections 7, 13(2)(d) of the Prevention of Corruptions Act and Section 409 of IPC in Police Station Divn. No. 6, Jalandhar has been registered against him. Counsel for petitioner has submitted that the petitioner has joined the investigation as and when called by the Investigating Officer. He further submits that the entire case of the prosecution is based on documentary evidence. Nothing further is to be recovered from the petitioner.
2. In view of the above, anticipatory bail application of the petitioner is allowed. In the event of arrest in FIR No. 196 dated 16.10.2000 under Sections 7, 13(2)(d) ofthe Prevention of Corruption Act and Section 409 of the IPC registered at Police Station Div. No. 6, Jalandhar, the petitioner is ordered to be released on bail to the satisfaction of the Arresting Officer.
