J U D G M E N T
The petitioner, a former member of the Edakkad Grama
Panchayat in Kannur District has filed this Writ Petition, seeking
for a direction to the respondents to have immediate steps to
repair the Kizhunna Parkandy Kshethram Pokkarathmukku road
in Edakkad Panchayat.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, the
learned Government Pleader and the learned counsel for the
Panchayat.
3. In the affidavit filed on 3.6.2010 along with
I.A.No.7659/2010, the petitioner has stated that the Government
has allotted funds to the 2nd respondent-District Collector, Kannur
for repair of the road. Whether those funds have been allotted
for the work in question is not clear from the affidavit also.
4. Evidently, whether there is any Scheme available for
the repair of the road is a matter for the District Collector to
consider. In the light of the grievance raised in the Writ Petition,
there will be a direction to the District Collector to consider the

matter and take steps, under any Scheme for repair/renovation
of the road in question.
The Writ Petition is disposed of as above.
