Justice V.GIRI\n\n Dated :26\/06\/2009\n\n O R D E R\n                             V.GIRI,J.\n                      -------------------------\n                 W.P ( C) No.17878 of 2009\n                      --------------------------\n                Dated this the 26th June,2009\n\n                        J U D G M E N T\n<\/pre>\n<p>     Trivandrum District Basket ball Association has<\/p>\n<p>approached this Court seeking a direction to the 1st<\/p>\n<p>respondent, the Kerala Basket Ball Association to permit<\/p>\n<p>the petitioner to attend the meeting of the 1st respondent<\/p>\n<p>and to cast their votes in the election to the post of<\/p>\n<p>office bearers in the 1st respondent proposed to be held<\/p>\n<p>in the meeting of the 1st respondent on 27.6.2009.<\/p>\n<p>Essentially the dispute centres round the eligibility of the<\/p>\n<p>representatives of the petitioner to participate in the<\/p>\n<p>election conducted by the 1st respondent.           Second<\/p>\n<p>respondent is not a statutory body nor is there anything in<\/p>\n<p>the writ petition to suggest that it discharges any public<\/p>\n<p>function. Elections to the 1st respondent are not governed<\/p>\n<p>on by any statutory provisions. There is no material on<\/p>\n<p>record to indicate that the 1st respondent is amenable to<\/p>\n<p>the writ jurisdiction of this Court.<\/p>\n<p>W.P ( C) No.17878 of 2009<br \/>\n<span class=\"hidden_text\">                               2<\/span><\/p>\n<p>      Accordingly,    in my view, the writ petition is not<\/p>\n<p>maintainable. The writ petition is dismissed.
