SPEAKER: Matters under rule 377 listed for the day would be treated as laid on the Table of the House. <\/p>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=Title\">Title<\/a>: Need to look into the interests of \u2018Jarawas\u2019 in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. \u2013 Laid.\n<\/p>\n<p>SHRI MANORANJAN BHAKTA (ANDAMAN &amp; NICOBAR ISLANDS): I would like to draw the attention of the Central Government and to the people of this country to what is happening in Andaman and Nicobar Islands is factually not known to many people. Since, Second Five Year Plan upto the Eight Five Year Plan the construction of Great Andaman Trunk Road was completed and the North, Middle and South Andaman was connected by road. People earlier used to travel by boat\/ship and sometimes with great difficulties. When the sea is rough, the travellers travelling by ships used to vomit and pass sleepless nights. The road is passing through Jarawas areas. The Jarawas have left their hostility and have become friendly during the past two years. It is unfortunate that Jarawas are not treated as human being by so called lovers of Jarawas and they wanted the Jarawas to be kept as museum pieces. These Jarawas are hungry because in Andamans Forests nowadays nothing is available.
