{"id":112208,"date":"2007-12-03T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2007-12-02T18:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.com\/judgments\/need-to-revise-railwayaes-catering-policy-of-2005-with-a-view-to-on-3-december-2007"},"modified":"2015-09-22T14:06:23","modified_gmt":"2015-09-22T08:36:23","slug":"need-to-revise-railwayaes-catering-policy-of-2005-with-a-view-to-on-3-december-2007","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.com\/judgments\/need-to-revise-railwayaes-catering-policy-of-2005-with-a-view-to-on-3-december-2007","title":{"rendered":"Need To Revise Railway\u00e2\u20ac\u2122S Catering Policy Of 2005 With A View To &#8230; on 3 December, 2007"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"docsource_main\">Lok Sabha Debates<\/div>\n<div class=\"doc_title\">Need To Revise Railway\u00e2\u20ac\u2122S Catering Policy Of 2005 With A View To &#8230; on 3 December, 2007<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<pre><\/pre>\n<p>                                          &gt; <\/p>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=Title\">Title<\/a>: Need to revise Railway\u2019s Catering Policy of 2005 with a view to protect the interests of small vendors in reserved categories.   <\/p>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=SHRI%20PRABODH%20PANDA%20\">SHRI PRABODH PANDA <\/a>(<a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=MIDNAPORE\">MIDNAPORE<\/a>): Sir, I would like to draw the attention of the Government, particularly the Railway Ministry, to the miserable plight of the tens of thousands of small Railway Catering licensees.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 It was the assurance given by the Railway Ministry that small catering\/vending unit, trolleys, stalls, all these, operated by reserved category would continue and they will not be affected by the new catering policy.\u00a0 But the orders have been issued by IRCTC to recover licence fee from such small categories at the rate of highest tender\/bid at the stations all over the country.[r88]\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0   <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 So, the point is this.\u00a0 How the small contractors and vendors belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, OBCs, minority groups, freedom fighters and war widows can compete with the big contractors?\u00a0 How can they pay this huge license fee?\u00a0 I think, the Ministry will have to think over it and review its Catering Policy.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Therefore, I urge upon the Government to have a re-look on the New Catering Policy of 2005 and implement it on the line of the entire policy of 2000, to save the thousands of families of these small vendors.\u00a0 So, I bring this issue to the notice before the Ministry.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lok Sabha Debates Need To Revise Railway\u00e2\u20ac\u2122S Catering Policy Of 2005 With A View To &#8230; on 3 December, 2007 &gt; Title: Need to revise Railway\u2019s Catering Policy of 2005 with a view to protect the interests of small vendors in reserved categories.
