Ltd., Chennai\n                       (through Shri S.Balaguna\/CPIO; &amp; Shri M.R.Vijayan,Manager(RTI)(AA))\n\nDate of Hearing       : 01\/02\/2010\n\nDate of Decision      : 01\/02\/2010\n\n\nFacts<\/pre>\n<p>:-\n<\/p>\n<p>        The complainant is an HDFC Credit Card holder through which he is insured through<br \/>\nUnited India Insurance Company Limited.          Vide his RTI application dated 04\/03\/2008, the<br \/>\ncomplainant Shri Girish Sanghvi has sought information regarding insurance policy taken by<br \/>\nHDFC Bank with UII for various privileges offered under credit card for the period 2006-07 and<br \/>\n2007-08 for the benefit of credit card holders holding platinum\/or Gold Card. He has also sought<br \/>\ninformation regarding the claims ratio and the premium paid by HDFC with break up for each<br \/>\nprivilege.\n<\/p>\n<p>2.     The CPIO vide his order dated 01\/04\/2008, has provided copy of policy for 2006-07 and<br \/>\nstated that premium\/claims ratio cannot be provided as these are matters of commercial<br \/>\nconfidence.\n<\/p>\n<p>3.     Not being satisfied, the complainant went in first appeal to FAA vide letter dated<br \/>\n09\/06\/2008 and also sought refund of the payment of Rs.20\/ paid to the respondents.\n<\/p>\n<p>4.     The FAA vide his order dated 27\/06\/2008 upheld the orders of the CPIO following which<br \/>\nthe complainant has come in an appeal before the Commission.\n<\/p>\n<p>5.      Hearing was held today at which respondents were present and represented as above. The<br \/>\ncomplainant was not present. The respondents stated that information pertaining to insurance<br \/>\npolicy taken by HDFC bank with UII had already been provided to the complainant. They were,<br \/>\nhowever, emphatic in submitting that information pertaining to premium paid by the HDFC for the<br \/>\nvarious privileges to UII with break up of premium could not be disclosed and sought exemption<br \/>\nu\/s 8(1)(d) of the RTI Act, 2005.\n<\/p>\n<p>                                              DECISION<\/p>\n<p>6.     Having studied the averments of the complainant and having heard submissions of the<br \/>\nrespondent before the Commission, the Commission upholds the decision of the CPIO.\n<\/p>\n<p>7.
