               Petitioner, who is the accused in Crime No.344\/2006 of<\/p>\n
Chavara   Thekkumbhagom   Police   Station   for   an   offence<\/p>\n
punishable   under   Sec.376   IPC,   seeks   his   enlargement   on   bail.<\/p>\n
The petitioner was  arrested on 22.5.2007.<\/p>\n
       2.      The   application   was   opposed   on   behalf   of   the<\/p>\n
prosecution.\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
       3.      Having   regard   to   the   nature   of   the   offences,   the<\/p>\n
duration of the judicial custody of the petitioner, the present stage<\/p>\n
of investigation and the other facts and circumstances of the case,<\/p>\n
if the petitioner is released on bail, he will definitely influence and<\/p>\n
intimidate the prosecution witnesses.   There is also the likelihood<\/p>\n
of the petitioner making himself scarce and fleeing from justice.  I<\/p>\n
am,   therefore,   not   inclined   to   grant   bail   to   the   petitioner   at   this<\/p>\n
stage.\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
       This petition is accordingly dismissed.<\/p>\n
