Joseph, J.\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>      Petitioners have approached this Court seeking the following<\/p>\n<p>relief:\n<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>            &#8220;Issue a writ of mandamus or any other<\/p>\n<p>      appropriate writ, order or direction compelling<\/p>\n<p>      respondents 1 and 2 to render adequate and sufficient<\/p>\n<p>      police protection to the life of the petitioners from the<\/p>\n<p>      atrocities and threats of respondents 3 to 6.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>      2. Briefly put, the case of the petitioner is as follows:<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>      Petitioners are conducting a saw mill near Pulimoottu Bridge,<\/p>\n<p>Palluruthy. Respondents 3 to 6 are residing very near to the saw<\/p>\n<p>mill. Under the influence of other saw mill owners very near to it,<\/p>\n<p>from the beginning of starting of the saw mill by the petitioners,<\/p>\n<p>false complaints have been lodged. But, the Authorities have not<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"hidden_text\">WPC.NO.31142\/2010 P               2<\/span><\/p>\n<p>found any truth upon these complaints. Later, the fifth respondent,<\/p>\n<p>a lady was asked to file false complaint and to pressurise the<\/p>\n<p>petitioners to withdraw the complaints pending against her<\/p>\n<p>husband and father-in-law in Magistrate Courts. It is alleged that<\/p>\n<p>respondents 3 to 6 have filed false complaint against the petitioners<\/p>\n<p>before different Authorities. But, nobody found any guilt upon<\/p>\n<p>these persons. It is alleged that respondents 3 to 6 are threatening<\/p>\n<p>the petitioners saying that they will file complaints against the<\/p>\n<p>petitioners by using the fifth respondent. Petitioners are afraid that<\/p>\n<p>the fifth respondent may misuse her status as a lady to harm the<\/p>\n<p>reputation of the petitioners by filing false complaints.<\/p>\n<p>      3. We heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the<\/p>\n<p>learned Government Pleader.          Learned Government Pleader<\/p>\n<p>submits on instructions that there is no threat as such to the life of<\/p>\n<p>the petitioners. Several complaints have been lodged against the<\/p>\n<p>first petitioner by the party respondents.<\/p>\n<p>      4.    We do not see how we can be persuaded to issue a<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"hidden_text\">WPC.NO.31142\/2010 P              3<\/span><\/p>\n<p>direction to give police protection on the ground that complaints<\/p>\n<p>have been filed against the petitioners. If false complaints are<\/p>\n<p>being filed, the petitioners have remedies available in law.<\/p>\n<p>Without prejudice to any of the remedies available to the<\/p>\n<p>petitioners in law and further directing that if any complaint is filed<\/p>\n<p>by the petitioners disclosing commission of any cognizable offence<\/p>\n<p>by the party respondents, action in accordance with law shall be<\/p>\n<p>taken.\n<\/p>\n<p>      The Writ Petition is disposed of as above.<\/p>\n<p>                                                       Sd\/=<br \/>\n                                                  K.M.
