{"id":121199,"date":"2005-12-08T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2005-12-07T18:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.com\/judgments\/regarding-need-to-regularize-the-services-of-temporary-and-daily-wage-on-8-december-2005"},"modified":"2015-08-04T18:07:15","modified_gmt":"2015-08-04T12:37:15","slug":"regarding-need-to-regularize-the-services-of-temporary-and-daily-wage-on-8-december-2005","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.com\/judgments\/regarding-need-to-regularize-the-services-of-temporary-and-daily-wage-on-8-december-2005","title":{"rendered":"Regarding Need To Regularize The Services Of Temporary And Daily Wage &#8230; on 8 December, 2005"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"docsource_main\">Lok Sabha Debates<\/div>\n<div class=\"doc_title\">Regarding Need To Regularize The Services Of Temporary And Daily Wage &#8230; on 8 December, 2005<\/div>\n<pre><\/pre>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=Title%20\">Title <\/a>:  Regarding need to regularize the services of Temporary and Daily Wage Mazdoors in the Electricity Department of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.\n<\/p>\n<p>( iv)  Need to  regularize the services of Temporary and Daily Wage Mazdoors <\/p>\n<p>in the Electricity Department of Andaman and Nicobar Islands <\/p>\n<p>SHRI MANORANJAN BHAKTA (ANDAMAN &amp; NICOBAR ISLANDS): During the 1990\u2019s the Electricity Department of Andaman &amp; Nicobar Administrative had appointed daily rated mazdoors for implementation of various plan schemes such as establishment of power houses, construction of T &amp; D systems, installation of renewable energy systems and providing of service connections and street lights etc.  some of these daily rated mazdoors were granted temporary status during 1993.  I understand as on date there are about 677 temporary status mazdoors working in the department.  Time and again Andaman &amp; Nicobar Administration have approached the Ministry of Home Affairs in the matter, who have further forwarded to Ministry of Power for their recommendations.  Thedecision is yet to be received by MHA from Ministry of Power.\n<\/p>\n<p>\tSir, I cite an example i.e. in 1999 MHA sanctioned for creation of 964 Group \u2018D\u2019 posts of mazdoors in scale Rs. 2550-3200 for regularizing the casual workers who were earlier appointed by the department during 1980s with the following conditions:\n<\/p>\n<p> These posts will be treated as personal to the Casual Workers having temporary status in the electricity department of A&amp;N administration till the date they are adjusted against regular vacancies\/retiree; and <\/p>\n<p> These posts will be wasted out against future promotions, retirements, deaths etc. <\/p>\n<p>In the same manner, I strongly opine that the present situation also needs to be handled with sensitivity and compassion in view of the longer services rendered by these mazdoors in the electricity department of Andaman &amp; Nicobar Islands.
