RAMACHANDRAN NAIR, J.\n              ---------------------------------------\n                   W.P.(C) No.6628 OF 2009\n               ---------------------------------------\n            Dated this the 29th day of June, 2009.\n\n\n                          J U D G M E N T\n<\/pre>\n<p>     The petitioners are working as Class IV employees under<\/p>\n<p>the 1st respondent-University namely, in the category of Peons.<\/p>\n<p>They are claiming promotion as Clerical Assistants.      Earlier by<\/p>\n<p>Exhibit P2 judgment, this Court directed that the claims of the<\/p>\n<p>persons like the petitioners will be considered in accordance with<\/p>\n<p>the qualifications so prescribed in the existing and ensuing<\/p>\n<p>vacancies to the post of Clerical Assistants. The said judgment<\/p>\n<p>has become final. Thereafter, the petitioners have approached<\/p>\n<p>this Court by filing this writ petition complaining that no positive<\/p>\n<p>action is being taken by the University to comply with the<\/p>\n<p>directions in the judgment.     They had in the meanwhile filed<\/p>\n<p>Exhibits P3 and P4 representations also.\n<\/p>\n<p>     2. This Court, on 24.03.2009, passed the following interim<\/p>\n<p>order:\n<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>                 &#8220;Heard both sides. If Ext.P2 judgment of this<\/p>\n<p>           court has not been varied or set aside, the<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"hidden_text\">W.P.(C) No.6628\/2009                 2<\/span><\/p>\n<p>              respondents shall comply with the directions issued<\/p>\n<p>              therein in the matter of effecting promotions to the<\/p>\n<p>              category of clerical assistants.  Respondents shall<\/p>\n<p>              also fill up the existing vacancies of clerical<\/p>\n<p>              assistants, on the terms of Ext.P2 judgment. Orders<\/p>\n<p>              in that regard shall be passed within two months<\/p>\n<p>              from today&#8221;.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Thereafter an affidavit has been filed on behalf of the<\/p>\n<p>respondents seeking for extension of time in the matter. Later<\/p>\n<p>by order dated 11.06.2009, sanction has been accorded by the<\/p>\n<p>Vice-Chancellor to implement the decision contained in the<\/p>\n<p>judgment forthwith and to effect promotions to the category of<\/p>\n<p>Clerical Assistants from among Class IV employees who have<\/p>\n<p>passed SSLC or equivalent qualifications as prescribed in the<\/p>\n<p>Ordinance. A copy of the said orders was placed before me for<\/p>\n<p>perusal by the Standing Counsel.\n<\/p>\n<p>       In that view of the matter, directions issued by this Court in<\/p>\n<p>Exhibit P2 have been complied with. It is stated by the learned<\/p>\n<p>standing counsel for the University that in the vacancies which<\/p>\n<p>may arise, the claim of the petitioners also will be considered in<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"hidden_text\">W.P.(C) No.6628\/2009            3<\/span><\/p>\n<p>accordance with their qualifications, and appropriate action will<\/p>\n<p>be taken in the matter expeditiously. Recording the same, this<\/p>\n<p>writ petition is disposed of.\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>                                T.R.
