Ramachandran Nair, J.\n                  - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -\n                    W.P.(C) No. 14675 of 2009-D\n                  - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -\n               Dated this the 7th day of April, 2010.\n\n                                JUDGMENT\n<\/pre>\n<p>      The petitioner mainly seeks for a direction to provide voting rights to<\/p>\n<p>Non Resident Indians by amending the provisions of the Representation of<\/p>\n<p>the People Act. It is submitted by the learned Standing Counsel for the<\/p>\n<p>Election Commission that already the very same issue was considered by a<\/p>\n<p>Division Bench of this Court in a public interest litigation, viz. W.P.(C)<\/p>\n<p>No.14304\/2009 and this matter can be disposed of in the light of the<\/p>\n<p>directions issued therein. A reading of the said judgment shows that the<\/p>\n<p>respondents submitted therein that a Bill, viz. Representation of the People<\/p>\n<p>Amendment Bill, 2006 has been introduced in the Rajya Sabha on<\/p>\n<p>27.2.2006. In the light of the above, the Division Bench directed the first<\/p>\n<p>respondent therein to take steps for finalization of the bill, as expeditiously<\/p>\n<p>as possible.\n<\/p>\n<p>       The very same direction will govern this writ petition also and the<\/p>\n<p>same is disposed of as above. No costs.\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>                                       (T.R.
