The election is<\/p>\n<p>scheduled to be held on 26.7.2009. The petitioner apprehends that<\/p>\n<p>unless police protection is ordered, there is likelihood of the election<\/p>\n<p>being disrupted.\n<\/p>\n<p>            2. We have gone through the averments made in the writ<\/p>\n<p>petition. Since the election is to be held to a Co-operative Society, it is<\/p>\n<p>the duty of the State to see that such election is conducted in a peaceful<\/p>\n<p>manner, without being interrupted by anybody.<\/p>\n<p>            3. In the circumstances, we direct respondents 2 and 3 to<\/p>\n<p>give necessary protection for the smooth conduct of the election to the<\/p>\n<p>Board of Directors of Vaikom Urban Co-operative Bank Ltd.<\/p>\n<p>scheduled to be held on 26.7.2009.\n<\/p>\n<p>W.P.(C) No.20556\/2009<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"hidden_text\">                                    2<\/span><\/p>\n<p>             4.
