SIRI JAGAN, J.\n                -----------------------------------\n                   W.P.(C) No.2708 OF 2011\n              ---------------------------------------\n           Dated this the 27th day of January, 2011\n\n                          JUDGMENT\n<\/pre>\n<p>      The petitioners are aspirants for employment as Work<\/p>\n<p>Assistant in the Travancore Titanium Products Ltd., the second<\/p>\n<p>respondent herein. They have undergone apprenticeship training<\/p>\n<p>for that post in the Travancore Titanium Products Ltd. itself,<\/p>\n<p>pursuant to which the Government of India has issued National<\/p>\n<p>Apprenticeship Certificates to the petitioners. According to them,<\/p>\n<p>therefore, they are entitled to be absorbed in the Company.<\/p>\n<p>Their grievance in this writ petition is that now the second<\/p>\n<p>respondent has issued Ext.P10 notification inviting applications<\/p>\n<p>for the said post, without considering the claim of the petitioners<\/p>\n<p>to be appointed to the post recognising the apprenticeship<\/p>\n<p>training undergone by them in the Company itself.<\/p>\n<p>      2.   The learned Standing Counsel would point out that<\/p>\n<p>there is no rule which enables the petitioners to seek automatic<\/p>\n<p>absorption pursuant to the apprenticeship training and therefore,<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"hidden_text\">W.P.(C)No.2708\/11                2<\/span><\/p>\n<p>they have to undergo the selection process as per the<\/p>\n<p>Recruitment Rules applicable. The learned Standing Counsel<\/p>\n<p>has also got a contention that the petitioners are over-aged.<\/p>\n<p>According to the petitioners, in view of the Government<\/p>\n<p>direction in this regard, the petitioners are entitled to<\/p>\n<p>preference in such appointment. In the above circumstances,<\/p>\n<p>the petitioners have filed Ext.P11 representation before the<\/p>\n<p>first respondent. The petitioners seek a direction to the first<\/p>\n<p>respondent     to  consider  and    pass    orders   on  Ext.P11<\/p>\n<p>expeditiously.\n<\/p>\n<p>      Having heard the learned Government Pleader and the<\/p>\n<p>learned Standing Counsel for the second respondent, I dispose<\/p>\n<p>of this writ petition with a direction to the first respondent to<\/p>\n<p>consider and pass orders on Ext.P11, after affording an<\/p>\n<p>opportunity of being heard to a representative of the<\/p>\n<p>petitioners and to a representative of the second respondent<\/p>\n<p>as expeditiously as possible, at any rate, within one month<\/p>\n<p>from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment.<\/p>\n<p>                                     S.
