Respondents\n                                                 -------\n      CORAM                            HON'BLE THE CHIEF JUSTICE\n\n      For the Appellant\/Petitioner                         Mr.P.K.Nayak\n      For the Respondent\/Opp.Party                         JC to Sr.S.C I\n                                                     --------\n3. 10.9.2008<\/pre>\n<p>        This is a petition for contempt alleging non-compliance of the order<\/p>\n<p>      dated 5.12.2006 passed in W.P (S) No.6974\/2006, by which the petitioner had been<\/p>\n<p>      granted liberty to file representation before the Registrar, Ranchi University, who, on<\/p>\n<p>      receipt of the same, was directed to consider the petitioner&#8217;s claim and pass<\/p>\n<p>      appropriate orders in accordance with law. It was further ordered that if any amount<\/p>\n<p>      was payable to the petitioner, the same be paid to him and in the event of failure to<\/p>\n<p>      pay the amount, 10% interest was directed to be paid.<\/p>\n<p>                    It is now informed that a sum of Rs.2,96,350\/- has been deposited in<\/p>\n<p>      the account of Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority, as the same was held<\/p>\n<p>      payable to the petitioner in the Lok Adalat.\n<\/p>\n<p>                    In fact, when a direction was already issued by the Single Bench to<\/p>\n<p>      make payment to the petitioner, it is difficult to appreciate as to why the amount has<\/p>\n<p>      been deposited in the account of Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority, as it<\/p>\n<p>      was the duty of the parties to inform the Member, Lok Adalat, that a court order is<\/p>\n<p>      already there to make payment to the petitioner.
