P (C) Nos. 21283, 24823, 25761,\n                        26081 &amp; 26100 of 2008\n              =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=\n               Dated this, the 4th     September, 2008.\n\n                            J U D G M E N T\n<\/pre>\n<p>      The petitioners in these writ petitions claim community status as<\/p>\n<p>Christian Parava (scheduled caste converts to Christianity) for the<\/p>\n<p>purpose of inclusion in   select list prepared and to be prepared by<\/p>\n<p>the Public Service Commission . The petitioners rely on evidence<\/p>\n<p>such as their SSLC certificate in which they are shown as Christian<\/p>\n<p>Parava. According to the petitioners, therefore, the petitioners are<\/p>\n<p>entitled to be considered as Schedule Caste converted Christian who<\/p>\n<p>are considered as &#8216;Other Christians&#8217; for the purpose of inclusion in<\/p>\n<p>rank lists prepared and to be prepared by the Public Service<\/p>\n<p>Commission. However, the question as to whether in the Kollam area,<\/p>\n<p>there are persons entitled to be considered as Christian Parava, was<\/p>\n<p>considered by a Division Bench of this Court in <a href=\"\/doc\/1415267\/\">Rajan v. State of<\/p>\n<p>Kerala,<\/a> 2007(1) KLT 730, wherein such claims were negatived by the<\/p>\n<p>Division Bench. The Division Bench has held that they are entitled to<\/p>\n<p>benefits only as Latin Catholics. That being so, the petitioners can<\/p>\n<p>only claim the benefit as Latin Catholics.\n<\/p>\n<p>      In the above circumstances, these writ petitions are disposed of<\/p>\n<p>with a direction to the Public Service Commission to treat the<\/p>\n<p>petitioners as belonging to Latin Catholic community and consider<\/p>\n<p>their claims for inclusion in the rank lists prepared or to be pared by<\/p>\n<p>the Public Service Commission, provided they comply with all other<\/p>\n<p>formalities prescribed for the same.        In respect of rank list in<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"hidden_text\">W.P.C. Nos. 21283\/08 etc.     -: 2 :-<\/span><\/p>\n<p>operation, such consideration shall be without affecting any of the<\/p>\n<p>candidates already advised.\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>                                      S.
