Learned<\/p>\n<p>counsel for the petitioners submits that relief against the 7th<\/p>\n<p>respondent is not pressed and that the 7th respondent may be<\/p>\n<p>deleted from the party array. Accordingly, the 7th respondent<\/p>\n<p>is deleted from the party array.<\/p>\n<p>             2. This writ petition is filed seeking the following<\/p>\n<p>reliefs:&#8211;\n<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>       &#8220;i. to issue a writ of mandamus or other<\/p>\n<p>       appropriate writ, direction or order directing<\/p>\n<p>       respondents 1 to 4 to grant proper and adequate<\/p>\n<p>       police protection to the petitioners, their family<\/p>\n<p>       members and their employees to run the<\/p>\n<p>       Petroleum Retail Outlet at Kottiyam beside NH-47<\/p>\n<p>       and the Colour Labs at Kottiyam and Kollam<\/p>\n<p>       without any let or hindrance from respondents 5<\/p>\n<p>       go 10and their men by removing them 200<\/p>\n<p>       meters away.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>       ii.   to issue a writ of mandamus or other<\/p>\n<p>       appropriate writ, direction or order directing Ist<\/p>\n<p>       respondent to consider Ext.P4 as expeditiously as<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"hidden_text\"> WPC No.6479\/2010                       -2-<\/span><\/p>\n<p>       possible.&#8221;\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>            3. Briefly put, the case of the petitioners is as<\/p>\n<p>follows:&#8211;The Ist petitioner      is one of the Directors of<\/p>\n<p>Al-Manama Group of Companies doing business in marketing<\/p>\n<p>consumer goods at various places in India and abroad.      He is<\/p>\n<p>running a petroleum retail outlet at Kottiyam       and another<\/p>\n<p>establishment having branches at Chinnakkada, Kollam and<\/p>\n<p>Kottiyam. The 2nd petitioner is the Manager of the retail outlet<\/p>\n<p>at Kottiyam.     The 5th respondent was working as Purchase<\/p>\n<p>Manager of the Al-Manama Group of Companies and was<\/p>\n<p>located in Dubai. Allegations are made against him. In short,<\/p>\n<p>the case of the petitioners is that respondents 5 to 10 had<\/p>\n<p>made allegations against the owners of the Al-Manama Group<\/p>\n<p>of Companies and that       they held a press conference and<\/p>\n<p>published libel defaming the petitioners and other Directors of<\/p>\n<p>the Al-Manama Group of Companies.          More importantly, the<\/p>\n<p>case of the petitioners is that there is threat from respondents<\/p>\n<p>and that their life and properties are in danger.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>            4.    Learned counsel appearing on behalf of<\/p>\n<p>respondents 5, 6 and 8 to 10 would submit that respondents<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"hidden_text\"> WPC No.6479\/2010                      -3-<\/span><\/p>\n<p>5, 6 and 8 to 10 have no intention to obstruct the petitioners.<\/p>\n<p>The learned counsel submits that there are some complaints<\/p>\n<p>against the petitioners.\n<\/p>\n<p>            5. Learned Government Pleader also submits that<\/p>\n<p>crimes have been registered on the basis of the complaints<\/p>\n<p>filed by the petitioners and respondents.<\/p>\n<p>            6.
