SIRI JAGAN, J.\n\n                      -----------------------------------\n\n                        W.P.(C)NO. 12752 OF 2007\n\n                      -----------------------------------\n\n             DATED THIS THE 11th DAY OF JUNE, 2007\n\n\n                                     JUDGMENT\n<\/pre>\n<p>       The petitioners seek correction of the name of their child in the<\/p>\n<p>birth   register.       The   learned   counsel   for   respondents   2   to   4   makes<\/p>\n<p>available   to   me   a   copy   of   the   application   form   submitted   by   the   1st<\/p>\n<p>petitioner himself for extract from the register &#8211; births in which the 1st<\/p>\n<p>petitioner   himself   has   given   the   name   of   the   child   as   &#8216;John   Francy&#8217;,<\/p>\n<p>which he now seeks corrected as &#8216;Allen John Francy&#8217;.   Therefore, it is<\/p>\n<p>clear that the entry in the birth register is not by mistake but as per<\/p>\n<p>the information supplied by the petitioners themselves.  That being so,<\/p>\n<p>the   remedy   available   to   the   petitioner   is   to   change   the   name   of   the<\/p>\n<p>child by publishing in the official gazette.\n<\/p>\n<p>       In the above circumstances, there is no merit in the writ petition<\/p>\n<p>and accordingly, the same is dismissed.\n<\/p>\n<p>                                                  S.
