{"id":158629,"date":"2005-12-01T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2005-11-30T18:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.com\/judgments\/need-to-review-the-decision-to-repatriate-two-thousand-group-ae%cb%9caae-on-1-december-2005"},"modified":"2017-06-05T18:58:01","modified_gmt":"2017-06-05T13:28:01","slug":"need-to-review-the-decision-to-repatriate-two-thousand-group-ae%cb%9caae-on-1-december-2005","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.com\/judgments\/need-to-review-the-decision-to-repatriate-two-thousand-group-ae%cb%9caae-on-1-december-2005","title":{"rendered":"Need To Review The Decision To Repatriate Two Thousand Group \u00c2\u20ac\u02dcA\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 &#8230; on 1 December, 2005"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"docsource_main\">Lok Sabha Debates<\/div>\n<div class=\"doc_title\">Need To Review The Decision To Repatriate Two Thousand Group \u00c2\u20ac\u02dcA\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 &#8230; on 1 December, 2005<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<pre><\/pre>\n<p>                                          &gt; <\/p>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=Title%20\">Title <\/a>:Need to review the decision to repatriate two thousand Group \u2018A\u2019 officers to DOT.   <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0  <\/p>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=SHRI%20SANTOSH%20GANGWAR%20\">SHRI SANTOSH GANGWAR <\/a>(<a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=BAREILLY\">BAREILLY<\/a>): The Government has decided to repatriate around 2,000 Group \u2018A\u2019 officers to DOT where there is no work for them to perform and they are to be paid fully pay and allowances out of the Consolidated Fund of India constituted mainly from the tax payer\u2019s money.\u00a0 The implication of repatriating these officers has not been evaluated properly.\u00a0The withdrawal of such a large contingent of highly trained technical officers (at the Government expenses) in one stroke has paralyzed the services of the two major companies of the Government engaged in the public utility services.\u00a0 It is just like disconnecting the lifeline of the country whether it is trade or social utilities.\u00a0 There is hardly any sector of life in the country which has not been adversely affected.\u00a0If we draw a balance sheet on the debit side of this action on the part of the Government, we have the infructuous expenditure on the salary of these 2,000 officers and near total paralysis of the services of the two companies namely, MTNL and BSNL affecting both present and future.\u00a0 Whereas on credit side there is no entry at all which could be credited.\u00a0 There was no situation warranting such a decision which can be conveniently deferred for a future date when the situation is ripe for appropriately giving pay or pension and to take work from the officers.\n<\/p>\n<p>MAJ. The Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs may please make a note.
