      Petitioner who is the 1st accused in Crime No.366\/2010 of
\nKovalam Police Station for offences punishable under Sections
\n143,147,148,149,323,324,506(ii), 427 IPC read with Section 27 of
\nthe Arms Act, seeks anticipatory bail.\n<\/p>\n
      2.    The learned Public Prosecutor opposed the application.\n<\/p>\n
      3.     Anticipatory bail cannot be granted in a case of this
\nnature. But at the same time, I am inclined to permit the petitioner
\nto surrender before the Investigating Officer for the purpose of
\ninterrogation and then to have his application for bail considered by
\nthe Magistrate having jurisdiction. Accordingly, the petitioner shall
\nsurrender before the investigating officer on 20.09.2010 or on
\n22.09.2010 for the purpose of interrogation and            recovery of
\nincriminating material, if any. The petitioner shall thereafter be
\nproduced before the Magistrate who on being satisfied that the
\npetitioner has been interrogated by the police shall consider and
\ndispose of his application for regular bail preferably on the same
\ndate on which it is filed.\n<\/p>\n
      This petition is disposed of as above.\n<\/p>\n
