The farmers are producing nearly 150 million kilograms of tobacco.\u00a0 The average cultivation cost has also increased this year from 15 per cent to 20 per cent.\u00a0 Last year, the farmers sold tobacco at an average price of Rs.39.66.\u00a0 Till yesterday, out of 150 million kilograms of tobacco, the farmers sold only 52.8 million kilograms.\u00a0Even this  <\/p>\n<p>year, the average price is Rs.38.66 which is lesser by Re.1.\u00a0 So, in this context, the farmers are agitating.\u00a0 Day before yesterday, in Prakasam and Guntur districts, the farmers came on roads.\u00a0 They were agitating as they are not getting remunerative price.\u00a0 The tobacco is also not sold.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>In this regard, we requested the hon. Minister of Commerce many times.\u00a0 The TDP Parliamentary Party and even the Congress MPs met the Minister of Commerce several times.\u00a0 We have Rs.100 crore with the Tobacco Board.\u00a0 We asked the Ministry of Commerce to direct the Tobacco Board to intervene in the market and purchase tobacco.\u00a0 Even after repeated instructions by the Minister of Commerce, the Tobacco Board is not reacting.\u00a0 They are not purchasing the tobacco.\u00a0 That is why, the distressed farmers are committing suicides in Andhra Pradesh.\u00a0This is the reality.\u00a0 The kith and kin of the farmers who have committed suicides also came on the roads.\u00a0 Now they are agitating as they are not getting even the compensation.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>In this situation, I would request you to ask the Government to intervene in this matter.\u00a0 For the last five years, the farmers are agitating.\u00a0You could ask our colleagues.\u00a0\u00a0This is a very important issue.\u00a0This is a burning issue in Andhra Pradesh.\u00a0 You could ask this from our colleagues on that side.\u00a0 Therefore, the Government should intervene in this matter.\u00a0 I would request you to direct the Government to intervene\u2026 (Interruptions)\n<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=SHRIMATI%20TEJASWINI%20SEERAMESH%20\">SHRIMATI TEJASWINI SEERAMESH <\/a>(<a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=KANAKAPURA\">KANAKAPURA<\/a>): You also mention the plight of the farmers in Karnataka\u2026 (Interruptions)\n<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=MR.%20CHAIRMAN%20\">MR. CHAIRMAN <\/a>: Please do not speak like this.\n<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=SHRI%20KINJARAPU%20YERRANNAIDU%20\">SHRI KINJARAPU YERRANNAIDU <\/a>: They are also facing problems.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0  <\/p>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=MR.%20CHAIRMAN\">MR. CHAIRMAN<\/a>:\u00a0 You have a big support.\u00a0 The following hon.
