Justice K.BALAKRISHNAN NAIR\n\n Dated :13\/06\/2008\n\n O R D E R\n                        K.BALAKRISHNAN NAIR, J.\n\n                     -----------------------------------------\n\n                      W.P.(C) NO. 31841 OF 2004-N\n\n                     -----------------------------------------\n\n                                 JUDGMENT\n<\/pre>\n<p>      The petitioner was a member of Muliyar Grama Panchayat, when this<\/p>\n<p>Writ Petition was filed. The Panchayat had passed a resolution to change<\/p>\n<p>the name of a place known as Kettumkallu as Allama Muhammed Iqbal<\/p>\n<p>Nagar. The Government approved that resolution by Ext.P3 order. Later,<\/p>\n<p>the Panchayat itself decided to cancel that change of name and Ext.P6<\/p>\n<p>resolution was passed by the Panchayat to that effect on 20.9.2003. Based<\/p>\n<p>on that resolution, Ext.P7 petition was filed before the District Collector by<\/p>\n<p>six members of the Panchayat, seeking approval for Ext.P6 resolution. The<\/p>\n<p>petitioner submits, the same has been forwarded by the Collector to the<\/p>\n<p>Government. He prays, the Government may be directed to take a decision<\/p>\n<p>on it.\n<\/p>\n<p>      2. I heard the learned Government Pleader for the 1st respondent. If<\/p>\n<p>Ext.P7 is received from the District Collector and it is still pending before<\/p>\n<p>the Government, the Government shall consider and pass orders on it in<\/p>\n<p>accordance with law within four months from the date of production of a<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"hidden_text\">WPC 31841\/04                         2<\/span><\/p>\n<p>copy of this judgment.\n<\/p>\n<p>      The Writ Petition is disposed of as above.\n<\/p>\n<p>13th June, 2008.
