MAHTAB <\/a>(<a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=CUTTACK\">CUTTACK<\/a>):\u00a0 Sir, I would like to draw the attention of this House regarding shifting of the Office of Joint Director-General, Foreign Trade\u00a0 from Cuttack. The Office of Controller of Export and\u00a0 Import was opened in Cuttack, Orissa\u00a0 in 1977.\u00a0 Later, it was upgraded keeping in view the increasing exports from the State.\u00a0 Exports from the State have now reached Rs. 5,500 crore annually.\u00a0 The figure is likely to go up further in view of the industrialization spree by the State Government.\u00a0 I see no reason why this\u00a0 Office of the Joint Director-General, Foreign Trade is\u00a0 being shifted from Cuttack.\u00a0 Cuttack is not only the Commercial Capital of Orissa but is also strategically located.\u00a0 It is nearer to the Airport as well as to the Seaport, and almost all the offices concerned with the establishment and development of the industries are also located in and around Cuttack.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0I would, therefore, urge upon the Government of India to declare cancellation of the proposed shifting of this Office from Cuttack.[r17]\u00a0  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lok Sabha Debates Need To Cancel Proposed Shifting Of Office Of Joint Director General, &#8230; on 31 August, 2007 &gt; Title: Need to cancel proposed shifting of office of Joint Director General, Foreign Trade from Cuttack in Orissa.
