To develop sports infrastructure at the district level, the present rule is that if the State Governments provide fifty per cent of the funds, then the Central Government would provide the other fifty per cent. With the prevailing financial condition, no State Government is in a position to provide this much of amount. The MPs are ready to provide funds for the development of sports. But this requirement of providing fifty per cent of the money is too much. Through you, Mr. Speaker, Sir, I would like to appeal to the hon. Minister of Parliamentary Affairs that he should convey the message to the hon. Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs that this rule should be changed.
