( Oral )<\/p>\n<p>              The petitioner, who has been elected as Panches of Gram<\/p>\n<p>Panchayat, Village Narinderpura, Tehsil and District Mansa, has filed this<\/p>\n<p>petition under Articles 226\/227 of the Constitution of India to hold the<\/p>\n<p>election of Sarpanch from the elected Panches, in accordance with the<\/p>\n<p>provisions of the Punjab Panchayati Raj Act, 1994.<\/p>\n<p>              Counsel for the petitioners states at bar that till date, no<\/p>\n<p>meeting for electing the Sarpanch has been convened.<\/p>\n<p>              Notice of motion.\n<\/p>\n<p>              On our asking, Mr. N.S. Virk, Addl. Advocate General, Punjab,<\/p>\n<p>who is present in Court, accepts notice on behalf of respondents No.1 to 4.<br \/>\n<span class=\"hidden_text\"> CWP No. 13898 of 2008                                               -2-<\/span><\/p>\n<p>            We have heard counsel for the parties.\n<\/p>\n<p>            In a similar case i.e. CWP No. 12694 of 2008, titled as Gurmeet<\/p>\n<p>Singh versus State of Punjab and others, decided on July 23, 2008, this<\/p>\n<p>Court has issued general directions to conduct the election of the Sarpanch<\/p>\n<p>in accordance with the provisions of the Punjab Panchayati Raj Act, 1994.<\/p>\n<p>            Keeping in view the said direction, we dispose of this petition<\/p>\n<p>with a direction to respondent No.3 that if the election of Sarpanch of Gram<\/p>\n<p>Panchayat, Village Narinderpura, Tehsil and District Mansa, has not been<\/p>\n<p>held so far, the same be conducted within a period of seven days, after<\/p>\n<p>giving three days&#8217; prior notice to all the Panches, in accordance with the<\/p>\n<p>directions, already given by this Court in CWP No. 12694 of 2008.
