RAMKUMAR, J.\n                    = = = = = = = = = =\n                 Crl.M.C.No.1771 of 2010\n                   = = = = = = = = = ==\n               Dated: 4th day of June, 2010\n\n                           ORDER\n<\/pre>\n<p>     Petitioners, who are accused Nos.1 to 3 in Crime<\/p>\n<p>No.659\/2009 of Pooyappally Police Station for an offence<\/p>\n<p>punishable under Sec. 498A        I.P.C, seek to quash the<\/p>\n<p>proceedings.\n<\/p>\n<p>     2.   In the light of the subsequent settlement of the<\/p>\n<p>dispute between the marital parties, the petitioners have<\/p>\n<p>approached this Court by invoking the powers under Section<\/p>\n<p>482 Cr.P.C. Having regard to the resolution of the disputes<\/p>\n<p>between the marital parties, continuance of the criminal<\/p>\n<p>prosecution against the petitioners is an avoidable irritant.<\/p>\n<p>     3.   Eventhough the offence under Section 498 A I.P.C.<\/p>\n<p>is not compoundable, in the light of the decision of the Apex<\/p>\n<p>Court in B.S. Joshi v. State of Haryana (AIR 2003 SC<\/p>\n<p>1386), the powers under Section 482 Cr.P.C. can be invoked<\/p>\n<p>by this Court to bring about premature termination of the<\/p>\n<p>prosecution.\n<\/p>\n<p>Crl.M.C.No.1771 of 2010<br \/>\n<span class=\"hidden_text\">                              2<\/span><\/p>\n<p>      Accordingly, this Criminal Miscellaneous  Case is<\/p>\n<p>allowed. Annexure A1 Crime No.659\/2009 of Pooyappally<\/p>\n<p>Police Station shall stand quashed.<\/p>\n<p>                                     V.
