No. 23889 OF 2009\n\n         = = = = = = = = = = = = = == = = = = = = =\n\n             Dated this the 20th day of August 2009.\n\n\n                           JUDGMENT\n<\/pre>\n<p>      Petitioner is the President of a Trust stated to be running<\/p>\n<p>higher education institutions in Kerala and also in Tamil Nadu.<\/p>\n<p>It is contended that the U.G.C. has granted to the petitioner, the<\/p>\n<p>status of a &#8216;Deemed University&#8217;.       Petitioner then submitted<\/p>\n<p>Exts.P5 and P6 applications before the U.G.C. for bringing a<\/p>\n<p>College of Dental Science and College of Nursing established in<\/p>\n<p>Neyyattinkara within the ambit of Ext.P4. The first respondent<\/p>\n<p>vide Exts.P7 and P8 letters, sought for the comments of the State<\/p>\n<p>Government In this regard. State Government has not given its<\/p>\n<p>comments so far and the petitioner has approached the State<\/p>\n<p>Government with Ext.P9 representation requesting expeditious<\/p>\n<p>action. This is not responded to and hence the writ petition.<\/p>\n<p>      2. I heard learned Counsel for the petitioner Mr. Jobi Jose<\/p>\n<p>Kondody and Mr. S.Krishnamoorthi, learned Counsel for the first<\/p>\n<p>respondent and the Senior Government Pleader appearing for<\/p>\n<p>the Government.\n<\/p>\n<p>W.P.(C). No. 23889 OF 2009<br \/>\n<span class=\"hidden_text\">                                  2<\/span><\/p>\n<p>      3.  The third respondent shall look into Ext.P9, take a<\/p>\n<p>decision on the same and give a response to the U.G.C. on<\/p>\n<p>Exts.P7 and P8 as early as possible, at any rate within 6 weeks<\/p>\n<p>from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment.
