Attariwala, Additional AG, Punjab accepts<\/p>\n<p>notice on behalf of the respondents.\n<\/p>\n<p>           The petitioner, who is stated to be Chief of Tarna Dal,<\/p>\n<p>seeks a mandamus to provide adequate security to him as there<\/p>\n<p>is an alleged threat to his life and liberty.\n<\/p>\n<p>           Tarna Dal, a group of Nihang Sikhs, was earlier<\/p>\n<p>headed by Jathedar Ajit Singh Pullah, who was reportedly<\/p>\n<p>murdered inside the jail on 28.08.2008 and FIR No.403 dated<\/p>\n<p>28.08.2008 under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code has been<\/p>\n<p>registered to that effect at Police Station Sadar, Amritsar. The<\/p>\n<p>petitioner is stated to be protecting the life of an eye witness<\/p>\n<p>(Gurdial Singh) who is a crucial prosecution witness in the<\/p>\n<p>aforementioned case.
