Justice P.BHAVADASAN\n\n Dated :11\/08\/2009\n\n O R D E R\n                P.R.RAMAN &amp; P.BHAVADASAN, JJ.\n\n                     -------------------------------\n\n                      W.P.(C) No. 18041 OF 2009\n\n                     -------------------------------\n\n                  Dated this the 11th August, 2009\n\n                            J U D G M E N T\n<\/pre>\n<p>Raman, J.\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>               Petitioner is running a granite quarry after obtaining<\/p>\n<p>valid licence from the authorities.       Alleging obstruction to the<\/p>\n<p>work by party respondents 4 to 6 and seeking police protection,<\/p>\n<p>this writ petition is filed.\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>               2. Heard both sides. We find that there is a labour<\/p>\n<p>dispute pending before the District Labour Officer. The disposal of<\/p>\n<p>this writ petition will not stand in the way of the said dispute<\/p>\n<p>being resolved in accordance with law. However, there cannot be<\/p>\n<p>any physical obstruction caused to the work being carried on by<\/p>\n<p>the petitioner. The petitioner undertakes that for the work in the<\/p>\n<p>quarry, members of party respondents 4 to 6 will be engaged by<\/p>\n<p>him. This is recorded. If there is any dispute as to whether the<\/p>\n<p>petitioner could use machinery for a portion of his work, that will<\/p>\n<p>W.P.(C) No.18041 of 2009<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"hidden_text\">                                 2<\/span><\/p>\n<p>be decided by the District Labour Officer, after hearing all<\/p>\n<p>concerned.\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>                3. In such circumstances, until such time the matter<\/p>\n<p>is settled, the status quo as on today should continue and the<\/p>\n<p>petitioner will engage members of respondents 4 to 6 for the<\/p>\n<p>work in the quarry. Further, there will be a direction to the police<\/p>\n<p>to see that no obstruction is caused to the work connected with<\/p>\n<p>the establishment of the petitioner and            if there is any<\/p>\n<p>obstruction, the same shall be removed.
