ANAND, J.\n<\/pre>\n<p>            The petitioners (Pooja and Vikramjit Kumar) have applied to<\/p>\n<p>this Court for protection from reprisal-related harm\/onslaught at the hands<\/p>\n<p>of respondents no. 4 to 10, who are parents and relations of petitioner<\/p>\n<p>no.1.\n<\/p>\n<p>            The petitioners, in support of their plea having attained<\/p>\n<p>majority, have   placed on record their affidavits Annexure P-1           and<\/p>\n<p>Annexure P-2 respectively according to which      the date of birth of the<\/p>\n<p>petitioner no.1 is 14.1.1987; whereas date of birth of petitioner no.2 is<\/p>\n<p>17.10.1984. The affidavit supported averment made by the petitioners is<\/p>\n<p>that they have entered into matrimonial alliance of their free volition.<\/p>\n<p>Marriage ceremony was performed in Shivnadanda Divine Mission<\/p>\n<p>(Gurukul) Regd. 67, Industrial Area, Phase-I, Chandigarh        In support<\/p>\n<p>thereof, the attention of this Court is drawn towards photographs<\/p>\n<p>Annexures P-4 and P-5. The marriage certificate has been placed on<\/p>\n<p>record as Annexure P-3.\n<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"hidden_text\"> Criminal Misc. No.M-20203 of 2009                                -2-<\/span><\/p>\n<p>                                 ****<\/p>\n<p>             Notice of motion.\n<\/p>\n<p>             On the asking of the Court, Mr. B.S.Sra, learned Additional<\/p>\n<p>Advocate General, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of respondents No..1<\/p>\n<p>and 2.\n<\/p>\n<p>             The respondent No. 2 shall ensure that the petitioners shall<\/p>\n<p>have the similar constitutional protection which is available to all the<\/p>\n<p>citizens of the country under Article 21 of the Constitution of India. The<\/p>\n<p>reiteration of that obvious constitutional guarantee would not be inferred to<\/p>\n<p>be an expression of opinion on the merits of the averments in the course of<\/p>\n<p>the petition qua the factum\/validity of their matrimonial alliance.<\/p>\n<p>             It will be for the learned State Counsel to communicate this<\/p>\n<p>order to the Director General of Police, Punjab and the Senior<\/p>\n<p>Superintendent of Police, Kapurthala forthwith.      The Director General of<\/p>\n<p>Police, Punjab and the Senior Superintendent of Police, Kapurthala shall<\/p>\n<p>forthwith communicate this order to the S.H.O. of the Police Station\/Police<\/p>\n<p>Post concerned.      The receipt of this order shall be noticed in the<\/p>\n<p>Roznamcha maintained at the concerned Police Station\/Police Post.<\/p>\n<p>             Disposed of accordingly.\n<\/p>\n<p>             Copy of the order be given to the learned State counsel under<\/p>\n<p>the signatures of the Special Secretary.\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<pre>July 27, 2009                                          (S.
