Respondents. \n\n\nPrayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent herein to pass orders on the petition filed by the petitioner under Section 16-D of the TNGST Act, 1959, dated 12.5.2011, as expeditiously as possible.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\t\tFor Petitioner\t  : Ms.R.Hemalatha\n\n\t\tFor Respondents \t   : Mr.Kanmani Annamalai \n\t\t\t\t\t     Special Government Pleader (Taxes)\n\nO R D E R\n<\/pre>\n<p>\tHeard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents.\n<\/p>\n<p>\t2. At this stage of the hearing of the writ petition, the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner had submitted that it would suffice, if the first respondent is directed to dispose of the petition, dated 12.5.2011, on merits and in accordance with law, within a specified period.\n<\/p>\n<p>\t3. The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents, has no objection for such an order being passed by this Court.\n<\/p>\n<p>\t4. In view of the submissions made by the learned counsels appearing on either side, the first respondent is directed to dispose of the petition, dated 12.5.2011, on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, not later than four weeks from today. The petitioner is directed to furnish a copy of the petition, dated 12.5.2011, to the first respondent, along with a copy of this order. However, it is made clear that this Court, by this order, has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the matter.<br \/>\n\tThe writ petition is disposed of, with the above directions. No costs.
