Mr.K.Elangovan\n^For Respondent   ... Mr.U.Minnavadi\n\t\t      for Mr.G.R.Swaminathan\n\n\t\t  * * *\n\n:JUDGMENT\n<\/pre>\n<p>\tThe appeal lies in a very narrow campus. The learned counsel for the<br \/>\nappellant questions only the quantum of compensation and that too, on the<br \/>\ninterest awarded by the Tribunal.\n<\/p>\n<p>\t2.  Firstly, the learned counsel for the appellant objects for awarding 9%<br \/>\ninterest and secondly, the objection is for awarding interest for the future<br \/>\nmedical expenses paid to the claimant.\n<\/p>\n<p>\t3.  The learned counsel for the claimant fairly submits that he was<br \/>\nagreeable for reducing the interest rate to 7.5% and he is not insisting any<br \/>\ninterest for future medical expenses of Rs.25,000\/- awarded by the Tribunal.\n<\/p>\n<p>\t4.  Since, the learned counsel for the claimant virtually concedes the<br \/>\nsubmissions made by the learned counsel for the appellant, this Court modifies<br \/>\nthe award by reducing the interest rate from 9% from 7.5% and also depriving<br \/>\ninterest for Rs.25,000\/- awarded towards future medical expenses.\n<\/p>\n<p>\t5.  The Civil Miscellaneous Appeal is allowed in the above terms.
