Justice ANTONY DOMINIC\n\n Dated :12\/06\/2007\n\n O R D E R\n\n\n                          K.S.Radhakrishnan\n\n                                      &amp;\n\n                          Antony Dominic, JJ.\n\n               ========================\n\n                         W.A.No.1270 of 2007\n\n               ========================\n\n              Dated this the 12th  day of June, 2007.\n\n\n                                JUDGMENT\n<\/pre>\n<p>Radhakrishnan,J.\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>        Original Petition was preferred by the respondent seeking a writ<\/p>\n<p>of mandamus directing the second respondent to pay to the petitioner<\/p>\n<p>the   sum   of   Rs.26,068.51   together   with   interest   thereon   from<\/p>\n<p>19.12.1978 till date of payment being the compensation for the lands<\/p>\n<p>taken   possession   pursuant   to   Ext.P1   and   for   other   consequential<\/p>\n<p>reliefs.   Learned single Judge held that  respondents are not justified<\/p>\n<p>in   saying that a portion of the land is a private forest,   vested in the<\/p>\n<p>Government.   Learned  single  Judge noticed  that more  than 28  years<\/p>\n<p>have elapsed after taking possession of the land, therefore     directed<\/p>\n<p>the respondents to pay a   sum of Rs.25,000\/- to the petitioner.   We<\/p>\n<p>find no infirmity in the findings rendered by the learned single judge.<\/p>\n<p>Government Pleader seeks  time to effect payment.
