After a lapse of about<br \/>\n\t5 to 7 years. The petitioner received a communication from<br \/>\n\trespondent no.2 to submit documents. On 21.8.1999, the petitioner<br \/>\n\twas informed that his application for appointment on compassionate<br \/>\n\tground is not accepted on the ground that dependent is residing<br \/>\n\tseparately from the family.\n<\/p>\n<p>2.3<br \/>\n\t\tThe petitioner had also made request for reconsideration, which<br \/>\n\talso came to be rejected. Hence this petition.\n<\/p>\n<p>\t\tHeard learned advocates for<br \/>\n\tthe respective parties and perused the documents on record.\n<\/p>\n<p>\t\tFrom the record it revealed<br \/>\n\tthat the father of the petitioner has expired in the year 1986 and<br \/>\n\tthe petitioner has moved the application after a lapse of more than<br \/>\n\tfive years.\n<\/p>\n<p>\tIt is required to be noted that the petition is inordinately<br \/>\n\tdelayed. In the case of <a href=\"\/doc\/796287\/\">Shiv Dass V. Union of India and Others,<\/a><br \/>\n\treported in AIR 2007 SC 1330, it is held  that if the petition is<br \/>\n\tfiled beyond reasonable period,say, three years, normally court<br \/>\n\twould reject the same or restrict the relief. Therefore this<br \/>\n\tpetition at this stage cannot be entertained.
