They are seeking<\/p>\n<p>enhancement of retirement age          of college lecturers in tune with<\/p>\n<p>UGC recommendation.          According to the petitioners, since the<\/p>\n<p>Government has implemented the UGC scheme as a package, which<\/p>\n<p>included the recommendation for raising of retirement age to 65, the<\/p>\n<p>petitioners are entitled to continue in service till the age of 65 years.<\/p>\n<p>      2. This exact question has been considered by more than one<\/p>\n<p>Division Bench of this Court, wherein the Division Benches have held<\/p>\n<p>that it is the policy decision of the Government to fix retirement age of<\/p>\n<p>Government servants and teachers and this Court cannot compel the<\/p>\n<p>Government to raise the retirement age. In fact, those judgments<\/p>\n<p>were rendered in the context of implementation of earlier UGC<\/p>\n<p>schemes itself, which also contained similar recommendation of fixing<\/p>\n<p>higher retirement age.       Therefore, following those Division Bench<\/p>\n<p>decisions, this writ petition is dismissed.<\/p>\n<p>                                           Sd\/- S.
